Last week I got the opportunity to attend the Women & Transport conference that brought together various stakeholders for a better and safer transport system. This unique gathering of change-makers brought together leaders and pioneers from research, practitioners, government and the non-profit sector to move specific ideas towards action.

The key conference was organized by the Flone Initiative, a women-led organization founded by Naomi Mwaura that is working towards the creation of safe, sustainable and accessible public transportation spaces for women.

At Advanced Mobility Africa we have always had a simple motto when it comes to women and matters of transport, “If mobility works for women, it will work for everyone else in society”. We promote the participation of women in transport through specific interventions like the Women Defensive driving programs.

For the upcoming Electric Mobility Technical training in January 2025, we will be offering a free scholarship to one needy and qualified woman nominated by Flone Initiative.
